Common questions

Do I need a paid plan to use the app?
No. The free Core plan works on mobile and watch — GPS distances, score entry, sync, offline. Paid plans (Plus / Pro) add AI insights, unlimited events, and Strokes Gained analysis but aren't required to play a round.
Does the app work without a signal?
Yes. Rounds record locally and sync back to your hub the moment your phone reconnects. GPS itself doesn't need cellular — most modern phones lock on within seconds even in dead zones.
Which watches are supported?
Apple Watch (Series 4+ on watchOS 9+) and Wear OS (3+) — both companions are in development and land alongside the phone apps. In each case the watch app is a companion: install the phone app first and it'll appear on your paired watch automatically. No separate download needed.
How much battery does a round use?
Around 15–20% on a typical 4-hour round with GPS on. Watch battery is similar. Both are tuned to prioritise duration over sample rate — enough for pin distances, gentle on your day.
Where does my scorecard end up?
Straight in your ForeWay hub — same account, same rounds list. Anything you record on mobile appears on the web instantly; anything you edit on the web pushes back to the app.
What happens to a round if my phone dies mid-way?
Everything scored up to that point is safe on-device. When you charge and reopen, the app picks up where you left off — no lost holes, no manual re-entry.
